Remember this tattered old chair?
I turned her to a shelf!
Definetely a learning curve here..
next time I’ll do it a little different.
And hopefully take pictures so I can share directions.
Mr. Post Road helped out..
In spite of the
“you paid $2 for that?”
“What are you going to put on a shelf that
hangs down at a 15* angle”
“interesting”
comments.
He was his usual cheerful self.
He must know what makes this gal happy
Though she has a might bit more character than when I
started I am still happy with the results.
Any good ideas what I should hang from
the spindles between the legs?

Fun! What room is she in? Kitchen? Towels. Living? quilts, magazines opened in the center and draped over.
Thanks for the ideas Tami! It's hanging in the living room. I'm loving the magazine idea.. my stinkers always seem to destruct them before I get a chance to read them
Candles? You know the old kind with the wick still attached to the other candle. Dried herbs? I like the mag idea as well.

Dried flowers? A vintage doily or two?
I had to LOL when I read the comment your husband made about how much you paid for your chair, I think I've heard the same words from my husband!

Hi Heather,
Just found your site thru Somerset Home! Love it! We're kindred spirits! I own a small gift shop in downtown Greer, SC (home of BMW), called The Grapevine. I love the farmhouse look! I actually try to incorporate a number of my own creations in the gift shop as displays for sale. I also love antiques (mostly American, Victorian thru early 1940's). We moved here last fall to be closer to my shop and we bought an 1880's farm house/cottage. Although it has had some updates, it still maintains quite a bit of character thruout. It's slowly becoming my studio with various created pieces being fostered until I make room in the shop for them!
Oooo! I love this! You did a beautiful job dressing up this charmer! I'm not sure you need to add anything to the spindles between the legs — it's truly lovely the way it is.
I have been saving this since you first posted it. It's just so striking, I love it. I've featured you on Craft Gossip today!

Love this. Was thinking about using a child size chair in bathroom as a towel rack. My 1/2 bath is really small and I have nowhere to hang guest towels. Thanks for a great idea!
Oh my gosh I am loving this idea!!! Perfect grey color too.
Do you have a spam issue on this blog; I also am a blogger, and I was curious about your situation; we have created some nice methods and we are looking to trade strategies with others, why not shoot me an e-mail if interested.
