Why hello, how are you dear PRV’ers? Yesterday I had the WILDEST of intentions. I tore my bedroom apart with the plan to paint it and accomplished cutting in a whopping four corners. aiughhhh….
I could not, would not scare you with those photos.. so after my brutal attempt to start to paint I threw in the brush. And decided to set a purty table instead. Just perfect for the dead of winter, dontchya think? A perfectly good thing to do on the first snow day (no school!)
Darn! I love winter but lately I’ve had a craving for some sunshine and warm garden manure on my toes. If I don’t get up to town to get my busted ski boot fixed it is going to be a looong one…
But how’s the weather been in your neck ‘a the woods? Good thing for this lil lavender wreath… wilted roses from the grocery… and homemade chicken pot pie. ALL good for getten’ through the winter doldrums!!
Are you getting sick of seeing these roses yet?? Feels like they made it into my last 8 posts but I just can’t help it! Roses are so perfect because you can enjoy them at EVERY STAGE OF LIFE. Love the buds, flowers, wilted, dryed, hips… love ‘em all. ok, ok.. yes I am pining away for my garden. I hope there are at least a few living rose bushes buried under all that snow out there.
Oh! Also.. my friend Heather Spriggs has just put together the most lovely e-zine. The winter edition is all things WHITE. Check it out! I think you will love it! Warning** I am a contributor to this one and I really spilt my guts.
Thanks so much for the lovely visit! Would love to hear from you either in the comments here or on my Facebook page. Life is so much more grand with friends, you know. And I am really grateful that I’ve gotten to “know” so many of you!!
Take care ‘n stay warm!

Love the roses. I too like winter but am so ready for the sun to shine. I need to get out to my shop and build something!!!
Ok, I am in love with your kitchen table and chairs. They’re gorgeous! And I think it’s pretty amazing that you can make half-dead flowers look so luminescent and lovely. I loved the White issue of Gatherings! I just may reread it today
Don’t you hate that when you start a project and something happens and you don’t finish it? I have had days like that- matter of fact, yesterday was one of them! Your roses are so pretty- you can show them 8 MORE times, if you want- xo Diana

I love roses in all forms too!
i just came across your blog yesterday and felt so blessed.
I am the mother of 7 children, 5 sons and 2 daughters, and am now in my late, ugghh 40′s. I say blessed because i remember the place where you are now. I was younger, with a house filled with more noise, more squeals, and more messes, (i must admit).
My youngest is 13 now. (sad face). I still have 4 living at home and as I have watched my little birds fly from my nest, i have had to learn how to wriggle into a new season in my life as a mother. I look back at those days and think back of that time and how much i accomplished spending precious time with my children and nurturing my creativity thru my garden, my cooking, etc. But, there were many days I remember thinking “if i can just get thru one more day, it will be because of the grace of God”. As crazy a pace that it was, i do miss it. I miss the ability to do so much and to be able to pull all my children safely under my wing, like a hen with her chicks.
It’s refreshing to hear another mom with so many little ones embrace this precious season in her life. God bless you and your family.
I just reviewed the Gatherings e-zine you contributed to.
Beautiful!! I loved it!
I have been looking for a lamp just like yours (page 83) and our town today looks exactly like your picture on page 93!
