My Cuppa Tea…

by postroad on February 8, 2012

Hello new ‘n old friends alike! Here today to share a ‘lil Valentine’s cheer today. Do you celebrate Cupid’s big day? I do! I’m all about the excuse to get a night out + something a lil special from Mr. PRV… sounds like a darn good holiday if you ask me! ;)

Yesterday the kids’ and I baked up some lemon sugar cookies. I’m not sure if I had more fun making them, eating them, or cutting out these sweet ‘lil Valentines… sigh… life’s simple pleasures are truly the best, aren’t they??

These cards are printables from Sarah Jane Studios. I LOVE LOVE Sarah’s work. I bought a special journal from her when we lost our daughter and I own this beautiful Christmas book she illustrated too. Her work is alive with the imagination and wonder of children. I was honored to meet her at the Creative Connection last year and she is just as sweet as these little cookies, I’m telling ya.

Today I am giving away FIVE sets of these awesome printable cards! WAHOO!! Right?? That means you have a darn good chance to be one of the winners! But if you DON’T want to rely on your chances you can grab yourself some Valentine’s fun HERE. They are only $5 and the best five bucks I’ve spent in some time! :)

All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment letting me know how/if ¬†you celebrate Cupid’s Arrow. For additional entries share this post on Facebook, twitter, or pinterest. Just be sure to LEAVE A SEPERATE COMMENT FOR EACH ENTRY.

You have till Saturday Feb 11th to enter. I will draw the winners on Sunday.

All right peeps! Good luck… have fun :) I will be back later to share a beautiful home ‘n person with you later this week.

Till then,

xo.Heather

p.s. more excitement on Post Road! I’m in Spring 2012 Artful Blogging! This was a fun one to write…

all about how I’ve messed up at blogging! hehe.. oops, not sure if I was supposed to admit that! ;)

You can find a copy here or at your local bookstore.

Heather, I will be celebrating Valentine’s Day very very long distance. Let’s just say, for the first Valentine’s in our lives, my honey and I are 13 hours in time zones apart! I visited Sarah Jane’s site, would love to win a set of cards. Perhaps I can mail my love to my honey! Love your site, as you know!

I celebrate Valentines with the kids I take care of. We will hang hearts everywhere and make more to take home. Some cut out cookies with red sprinkles and maybe hot chocolate with heart shaped marshmellows. Then later with Hubby…..eating out and enjoying each other’s company.

I celebrate by making special treats for my kids’ school lunches and writing them each a special valentine. I also make a special dessert – usually something chocolate. I adore Sarah Jane’s studio!!

Past years, my DH and I have gone to a Valentine’s event at the Georgia Aquarium. But this year we had to buy a new computer, so we are celebrating at home. I also organized a chili lunch for my office. All the food is going to be white, pink, red or heart-shaped. Should be interesting to see what people bring!

We celebrate with a fancy dinner in the dinning room. Complete with the fine china, silver, and even the chrystal for the kids to use. This has been our Valentine tradition for a few years now. The children always look forward to this dinner since it is always extra special from beginning to end. Hope you have a special Valentine’s Day.

My hubby loves brownies, so I’ll make a pan of his favorite brownies. Of course, he loves hugs and kisses, especially on Valentine’s Day.

I’d like to try for a set of those lovely cards.

When I was getting my Sarah Jane giveaway ready, I was cursing around her site and fell in {LOVE} with the valentines! So stinkin’ cute!

Hope all is well, haven’t talked to you in a while!

February 15th is my dear hubbie’s B’Day so I always try to do something special for him, including a cake, chocolates and hearts. I make the hearts and have been known to make the cake, but this year I’m buying him an ice-cream cake. That is his favorite.

Hope I win those lovely cards because I love them so. My card stash is getting low. Women, go ahead and buy your loved one some chocolate. Contrary to what women think, men do like chocolate. See if it doesn’t disappear.

Every year I go to the Hallmark store and pick out a Valentine card for each of our four kids; then my husband writes a special message in each child’s card about their special accomplishments in the last year and how they are special to our family.

To celebrate Valentine’s, I like to send snail mail letters and special Valentine notes to friends far and near. I just mailed out a passel of them today, hoping they all will arrive–some cross-country–in time for Valentine’s Day. I just wrote a post about it today if you’d like to check it out. I’d love to be included in your giveaway!

I love to celebrate all holidays, and Valentine’s Day is now exception! I’m not married, so I enjoy making/giving little gifts to all my siblings and my parents. :) Maybe I’ll make a Valentine dessert and make sure the red or pink tablecloth is on the table, too.
