Keeping It Clean….

by postroad on June 13, 2012

Confession time! I am really NOT good at cleaning, organizing or anything of the sorts. It is so not in my DNA. I am much comfier with my screw gun then my mop. When I start my day off with grand intentions to clean or organize I usually end up painting or decorating instead.

With each baby this becomes MORE of a problem… but there is something that eases this pain, oh yes! Natural and organic soap you can make at home!! When I discovered this foaming hand soap recipe and all-purpose cleaners I KNEW that I had to design a foaming mason jar soap dispenser. Do you want to learn how to make this soap?? Watch the video below-

um, yes. My home is still NOT spotless and will probably never be. But these cleaners have taken so many of my excuses away. “Can’t clean right now.. the baby will be playing in the bleach.” “Don’t want to breathe the fumes while pregnant.” “I will do it when the kids are sleeping.”

Ah, they DO help scrub the toilets now (though I can’t attest to the outcome here!) But the fact that the cleaners are safe enough for my kiddos to use makes me smile. :)

I am not really a hardcore organic person though I do pay attention to what we put in our mouths and on our skin. I think when it comes to trying new and natural things people often fall into two camps… too intimidated to start or so great guns right off the bat. Finding that mid ground has worked perfect for us. Incorporate a ‘lil as the time and budget allows while always keeping in the back of the brain that our bodies and health is something NOT to be taken for granted.

The Thieves Household cleaner and Dr. Bronners Castile Soap can both be found at Amazon.

Thieves Household Cleaner – 14.4 fl. oz.

Dr. Bronner – Organic Castile Soap Unscented Baby-Mild, 32 fl oz liquid

I have created a PDF file which contains the rest of the cleaning recipes. All the recipes I got from my aunt which she got from a Young Living Rep… awesome stuff!!!

You can find the rest of the natural cleaning recipes here. Including all-purpose cleaner, window cleaner, and dish soap.

All use the Dr. Bronners Castile Soap and Thieves Household Cleaner. The stuff lasts FOREVER!! I have scrubbed TONS of hands and toilets using these two lil bottles of pure magic! :)

And no matter what cleaning products you use it really does help to “whistle while you work”.

I love this! I’m not much of a cleaner myself… but I do try… and I have no excuses at all… my daughter is almost 22!! LOL!
