Top of the day to you! I hope you are having an awesome weekend! I most certainly am…… yup, we kicked the chicken pox to the curb once and for all! They made their merry trails through our whole family so no more until if/when we have more kids! Wahoo!!! That calls for a celebration! How about another giveaway and a video??
Yes, I am sharing how to make these dream catchers in video here today. I promise this started as a wreath but I’m not sure what happened. My hands kept moving and it turned into the farthest thing from. But sometimes one must succumb to the circumstances at hand. Like lots of little red dots that can take over the week and piling up a bunch of junk in front of me just to see what will happen.
It does have a star in it….. just a bit Christmassy, no?
These pictures were taken in my Nursery. If you want to see the full room you can check it out in the Fall edition of Homebound.
Anyways, let’s roll!
I promised a LONG time ago that I was going to start doing videos. It is one of those things that I really want to do but am scared out of my britches of. I’m not sure why and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t supposed to admit that to you, but it’s true. So if I sound extra corny just bare with me…….. it can only improve from here, right? right?? LOL
ok…… now on to the FUN PART! Giveaway time! Thank you SO much to all who entered last weeks wreath giveaway. If you missed it check out the tutorial here on how to make a dried hydrangea wreath.

3. If you read my winter magazine I want to hear about your favorite part(s) and why. (you can find the free version of the magazine here)

WOW!! How you manage it all is beyond me…Do you have a SuperWoman cape under your clothing??? To be able to craft, take care of a houseful of sick chickies & conquer your fear of video taping a tutorial is AWESOME! You are my new hero! And, yes, I love the star thing-a-ma-bob. If I win it, I will hang it from a high shelf in my livingroom. There, everyone who comes to visit during the holidays will see it & I will give them your awesome website to visit. Have yourself a cuppa tea & take a well deserved break! And, oh yah, say HI to Ironman for me!!! Merry Christmas!
Loved the video!!! Here, in the cold north woods, crafting is a way of life. I love all your wonderful ideas and put many of them to work in my tiny farmhouse. It makes my everyday life so much richer having things around me that are made by hand, as everything was for our grandparents. Life is simpler this way. That is why I adore your website. You do the same things I do and you seem to cherish faith, home, family, and community as much as I do. So, yes, make more videos…these contribute to making houses truly homes that enrich our lives on a daily basis. And isn’t THAT what life is all about???
P.S. Besides, I do not have a TV, so you are VERY entertaining!!! LOL!

I LOVED SEEING MARIA’S HOUSE!! Another talented lady from Michigan! I was so happy to see the article featuring her awesome farm since Fifi’ magazine isn’t coming out. I was so looking forward to seeing her homestead all decked out for the Christmas season. Thank you for this feature!
I love to craft and am hands on. It is hard for me to see a picture sometimes so watching the video’s helps me along. I dont sew so I love easy things that you can cut and make with fabric so anything in that department would be nice to see a video on..
I love your winter magazine. I just love to look and savor each picture. They truly are inspiring. Thanks so much for offering the free version… I would love to win a hard copy to get my hands on. Its hard to pick a favorite thing in it but the pictures would have to be. Thanks for so many chances at this giveaway. I can hardly type fast enough.
I’m a visual person, so do appreciate video tutorials. Would like to see one on book-binding .
Posted this great giveaway as well..

I would love to see videos for shelves, your crates, etc. I’ve pointed many of them out to my hubby, but they’d get done way faster if I did them myself!

I am so making this! i have a collection of old lace, fabric and notions from my grandma Ola. My sister is so getting an extra present when she visits from salem this Christmas! THAnk You!
I love your little dream catchers and would love to hang one in my living room. You did a great job on the video and by the way your winter magazine is beautiful. Please enter my name in your contest. Thanks again.
Thank you for the sweet video..I would love to see a video on how you put together the different items you pictured from your baby’s nursery..it was so peaceful! I would have NEVER known you were nervous – you appeared completely at ease!
I would hang your star dream catcher in my crafting room..lots of soft fabrics there very similar to what you used..so sweet! and I LOVED that you used what you had…we do not do that nearly enough!!
I also loved the intro to your winter magazine- it was good advice that I need to heed…I got so run down from overdoing at Thanksgiving that I now am fighting bronchitis..so, I am ready to heed your advice..to slow down and choose wisely what to be involved in this Christmastime!! And it was perfect that this sage advice was adjacent in your magazine to the natural and peaceful beauty of the citrus bedecked tree…ahh, peace!! Thanks so much for sharing your creative gifts with us all!! Merry, merry Christmas!
that was a sweet video/tutorial…..please do more

Kelly
I’d love to see a video on soap making. I have no idea what it entails. Thanks for the chance to win.
If I win, I’ll be giving it to my daughter. She will love it and it’ll look great in her apartment.
I also like the photography in your magazine. It always makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I did like the bird feed in the snow photos. We don’t have snow at any time of the year. (Except in the mountains)
Kelly
I have the free version of your magazine but haven’t read it yet …that’s what Sunday afternoon is for! I love your mag by the way!
Sharing it on Pinterest.
I have shared on my facebook page.
I purchased a copy of the Winter Magazine.
Kelly
I signed up for a free version of the Winter Magazine, LOVE it. I dabble in photography it is a peaceful hobby for me. The pics in the free magazine give me the same peaceful feeling they are beautiful. I love your creativity you are an inspiration to all of us. I just subscribed to the Homebound Magazine and purchased one for a friend.
If I win a dream catcher I will hang it in my bathroom where I start and end my days. It will remind me of what life is really all about-faith, family, friends & sharing with others.
I shared via email with a friend.
I subscribed today I will read the free digital copy tomorrow as I sit by the Christmas tree with a warm cup of tea, ahhhhh can hardly wait.
Heather:
I am awestruck with your art work and creativeness. I love it all-you are truly an inspiration to me, et al. The lavender soap is so awesome and the dreamcatcher, I can hardly wait to make one. Blessings to you and your family this holiday season.. Glad your little ones are on the mend….
I loved the video. I have some old hangers I would love to make some of mine own. I am a goodwill junkie and always have things I have found there that I would add to mine. I enjoy your e-mails that share your creations. I know it always inspires me. I love making my home cozy and seeing what you do to yours helps inspire me. Thank you. Take care and ENJOY the holiday.
Sincerely Suzie
PS: Glad to hear the kids are all over the chicken pox.
Hello! Love the soft color scheme of the dream catchers! I’d hang mine over the bed, of course. We just moved into a new home and the bedroom desperately needs decor!
I’d love to see a video on how to make soap—that might ruin your business, though!
I’d hang your dream catchers in my living room windows.
It would be fun to see a video on gardening tips.
I liked the Retreat Shop article because I love going to quaint little shops and wandering around. To me, that is a treat! The shop looked positively inspiring!
If I win, the dreamcatchers would make my entryway more festive for Christmas (since I have not decorated there yet)
I would love to see your farm in a video and your soap making!!!!!!
I would hang the thing ama bobs in the sunroom window and over the guest room bed and…….hmmmm……..ove the toilet would be quite humorous, at least to me!
oh yes the third remark is I love your magazine. the photos are my favorite thing of course, I like to just stare at the beauty and imagine and dream.
Your photography has its own signature style and I marvel at the light, bright, sweet, clear feel of it. The video was perfect, real, comfortable. Hi Heather, love your magazine!!! My favorite part from the winter edition is the article and pictures of the little store ReTreat. Makes me want to go, or atleast find something like it closer to home (Pacific NW) Thank You.
I think I’d like to see more DIY crafting on the cheap tutorials. I’m a new follower after I purchased the fall homebound edition.
I would hang them in our “vintage” windows in the new Navy house we’ll be moving into.
There you go, Heather! I would love to see how you distress a project – with waxy stuff and all that.
my daughter could use some feminine stuff around here – these thingies would hang above her crib. (in my room)
yeah, I posted to FaceBook. gotta help you out for all you’ve inspired me this past year!
the wooden crates!
the decorating ideas…fun!
Great job on your first tutorial on the dreamcatchers! You have so many things that look lovely & my kind of decor, so any tutorials would be welcome! Also, it sounds like your home is full of lovely action….a few sneak peeks of that would be exciting!
I would hang one of your lovely dreamcatchers in my bathroom window, maybe another one leaning on a shelf across the room! Of course they would be so pretty against the dark green of a tree!
I have huge windows — like 90″ tall. So I’d hang them there!
I would use these fab dreamcatchers in all the rooms of my house! Loved your video…please do more! Soap making would be great or more using “found” items and items from nature. Love everything about you!
